The 94th Anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Finland
On the 8th of December at the R. Glier Kyiv Institute of Music the festivities to celebrate the 94th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Finland were held in which the students of Scandinavian Gymnasium participated. The gala party which was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland Mrs. Ar'ya Makkonen was opened by the President of the "Ukraine - Finland" Society, Professor B. Tsyganok.
In their speeches the guests congratulated Mrs. Makkonen upon the Anniversary of Independence, and expressed their hope for further fruitful cooperation between the Embassy of the Republic of Finland and the public organizations of Ukraine.
The Rector of the R. Glier Kyiv Institute of Music, the People's Artist of Ukraine, Professor O. Zlotnik joined the greetings.
Her Excellency, the Ambassador, Mrs. Ar'ya Makkonen, in her welcome speech thanked all the present for their congratulations.
The party was concluded by the chamber concert in which the students of Scandinavian Gymnasium took part. The 10-formers congratulated the Ambassador on the Anniversary of Independence in Finnish. The “Merry Notes” choir presented the Christmas carols, and the concert was completed by the Finnish polka performed by "The Charm”, the gymnasium theater of dance.
