New project: Kyiv – Næstved
Every year the gymnasium receives the honorary guests – the students from the Scandinavian countries. This autumn, from the 9th through the 14th of October, a group of students from Denmark, the country of unbelievable beauty, visited us. They were the children from the city of Næstved, the students of Næstved Gymnasium who study Russian, and decided to visit Scandinavian gymnasium and the city of Kyiv. Our students who study the Danish language looked forward to meeting their foreign guests and exchanged e-mails with them. They also prepared an interesting program for the visit: together they visited Kiyevo Pecherska Lavra, the Opera, the ethnographic museum “Mamayeva Sloboda”, and the historic center of Kyiv, the Chornobyl Museum and the Museum of Water. The Danish students and their teachers Susanna Nilsen and Ellen Christensen were pleasantly surprised by our hospitality and interesting entertaining program. We, for our turn, were surprised by the warmth and unbelievable sincerity of the Danes who cannot be called cold people from the cold North. We hope our collaboration and friendship will last! A return visit of the Ukrainian children is scheduled for April, 2012.
