Kyiv – Newshoping: Meeting again
From the 9th through the 15th of May, the students of the partner Tessen High school from the Swedish city of Newshoping visited Scandinavian Gymnasium. The students of the gymnasium hospitably received their Swedish guests in their families and spent all their time with the guests. They visited different museums together: the Museum of Chornobyl, the Museum of Oriental and Occidental Arts, the Museum of Water, Kiyevo Pecherska Lavra, the Opera, and other places of interest. A row down the river Dnipro and a visit to the botanical gardens were also very interesting.
The Swedish students attended the lessons at the gymnasium, met the members of the EuroClub “The Vikings” and discussed various problems that the young are interested in. On May the 13th our guests visited the Swedish settlement of Zmiyivka in Kherson region, and also Askaniya Nova natural reserve. It was the second visit of the students from Newshoping to Kyiv and a return visit of Kievers is expected in the next school year. Such meetings have become traditional for Scandinavian Gymnasium, therefore, next year the students who study Scandinavian languages are invited to visit Sweden. In fact, the number of partner schools of Scandinavian Gymnasium increases annually. It proves the active position of students and teachers of the gymnasium and their commitment to international contacts.
