On the first of December, 2010 within the framework of the International workshop «The use of information technologies in the development of multicultural communicative skills of students while teaching history» organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, M. Dragomanov National Pedagogical University, the All Ukrainian Union of Teachers of Social Sciences and Civil Education, with EU assistance an open lesson in the history of Ukraine in the 10th form conducted by the teacher-methodologist Ljubov A.Brykova took place.
Distinguished guests - T. Ladychenko, the Chairman of the All Ukrainian Union of Teachers of Social Sciences and Civil Education, Ph.D. in Historical Sciences, Professor; R. Yevtushenko, chief specialist of the department of universal secondary and preschool education of MES of Ukraine; the EU experts - Mr. Aloiz Ekker, professor of the Viennese University (Austria), Mr. Christopher Roy, chief examiner in history for AQA 24 (Great Britain); research workers, teachers-methodologists of educational establishments in Kyiv.
In the lesson the students studied the topic «Ukraine in the First World War». They showed profound knowledge of the material, ability to work with an interactive board, ability to work in teams, ability to analyze historical documents and make conclusions. After the lesson during the round table discussion the guests had the opportunity to discuss with the teachers and the school administration the important questions of historical education.
