Georgia for life!
At the beginning of the school year the students and the teachers from the private school «Оpiza» located in the city of Tbilisi visited our gymnasium. From the 4th through the 9th of May the students of our high school visited an extraordinarily beautiful and rich in cultural heritage country of Georgia, met their Georgian friends and now can gladly tell about their impressions.
As early as in the first day of their stay, the country of Georgia captivated the hearts of the Kievers. Our students saw the interesting and unique world of this country. The Georgian friends met our children extraordinarily warmly and cordially and we saw that the Georgians are very nice and friendly people. The «Оpiza» school administration made everything possible to make this journey unforgettable. And they succeeded in it.
Incredibly beautiful nature, picturesque mountains, historical cities and sights… The students visited the historical cities Mtsheta, Kakheti, Telavi, the city of love Shiomgvime, Shuamta, the Trinity Cathedral, the former NATO General John Shalikashvili museum and the ethnographic museum, the Pantheon on the Mtatsminda mountain. And in the N. Dumbadze theater the concert of folk songs and dances performed by the students of the «Оpiza» school took place. The Georgians had a pleasant surprise for us. They performed Ukrainian songs and dances. We also visited the monument to Shota Rustavelli , saw the center of the capital of Georgia and went to the monument to Таras Shevchenko in Tbilisi where we recited poems of the great kobza-player, put flowers to the monument to honor the great son of the Ukrainian people.
The «Оpiza» school Head Master Gocha Urgushadze organized for us an interesting meeting with the Ambassador of Ukraine in Georgia Mr. V. Tsybenko who hospitably met our delegation and told about the Ukrainian Mission in Georgia. Also, our director Tetyana E. Pushkaryova gave an interview to two leading Georgian TV channels where she told about the importance of partner relations in education between our countries.
Georgia became the second home for us and the Georgians – our brothers and sisters. We look forward to the next visit to this surprisingly beautiful country.
