International Conference in Poltava
On the 11th – 14th of May, National Korolenko
Pedagogical University hosted the second International Scientific Conference
"The North Wind. The Nordic world in education, science and culture of
Ukraine." The conference was attended by teachers and students of
Scandinavian Gymnasium, representatives of the universities of Denmark and
Sweden, scientists from all over Ukraine. During the conference, our delegation
took a look at Poltava Pedagogical University and their students. The meetings
were memorable, especially, communication with Margareta Sandvall, the Head of
Swedish international education programs; Professor Eric Sandvallom, a member
of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences (Stockholm, Linkoping, Sweden);
Professor Hans Albin Larsson (Sweden); Professor Hans Christian Oster (Sweden);
Professor Mette Jorgensen, Director of the International Office of the
University of UCC (Copenhagen, Denmark) and Karsten Hammer, an old friend of
our school, Professor at the University of Copenhagen (Denmark). The cultural
program was interesting. Our delegation visited the "Spring Concert"
given by the students of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism and made a
tour of the city of Poltava, visited the Regional Museum and the Museum of
Kotliarevsky, a famous Ukrainian writer, born in Poltava. Participation in such
events inspires new research, promotes cooperation, expands the circle of
friends.
