Environmental Education Decade

From the 20th to the 28th of April the traditional Week of Environmental Education was held at Scandinavian Gymnasium. A variety of interesting activities took place in the framework of the event, in particular, the meeting with Olga Cherniavsky, the Head of Ukrainian public organization, who talked about sorting waste. She described waste as a valuable resource. Special boxes for separate waste collection (10 containers for paper, plastic, batteries, flip-off caps) were installed at our school. Also, a meeting with K. Bolot, a student of the NAU environmental faculty, took place. She told the students about the profession ecologist in Ukraine. 10 students of the 10th grade in the framework of the "STEM" project visited "Singenta" and "Energoatom" companies where they discussed the problems of environmentally friendly production. Throughout the week, various presentations devoted to protection of the environment were given by the students of the 6th – 11th grades. Also, 463 students prepared 17 interesting projects.
