Volunteer Teacher
For three months Tim Sappala, a volunteer teacher of Finnish and English, was working at our gymnasium. A wonderful teacher, a wonderful person, Tim managed to make all the students studying Finnish to fall in love with him. He helped them to believe in their potential and understand that language skills open all borders. In his lessons, Tim used communicative teaching methods: from dialogues to group communication. Different topics such as "Man and the World", "Family and Friends", "Protection of Animals" were widely discussed. Together with students the volunteer teacher compared the modern Ukrainian and Finnish literature, art and cinema news, and together with the elementary school students he participated in the theatrical lesson "Funny Animals". We are grateful to Tim Sappala for his excellent lessons, we congratulate him on the Independence Day of Finland, and look forward to seeing him again in the spring!
