Winter Holidays at Elementary School
All of us - children and adults - look forward to the winter holidays every year. Indeed, in winter almost every day is a holiday each of which is unique and full of interesting games and fun!
On December the 11th the students of the 4A form gathered for a family holiday "Honor Your Father and Mother" where they welcomed the closest people in the world - mothers and grandmothers, fathers and grandfathers.
On December the 13th the students of the 4D form showed “What's the New Year Is Bringing?” performance for their parents. Gypsies and fairy-tale characters made divinations.
On December the 18th the third-formers reflected the Ukrainian tradition of celebrating Christmas in staging the work of Mykola Gogol - "The Evenings at a Farm near Dykanka". The Ukrainian costumes which the characters were wearing added holiday coloring to the performance.
The New Year performances by the "Lady Bird" theater at the New Year parties (23.12.13 - 12.26.13) created a holiday mood for all the children. They were organized by the “Scandy” Foundation in the assembly hall of the gymnasium. The students gladly participated in the competitions: recited poems, solved puzzles, performed different tasks from Farther Frost and Snow Maiden, danced, presented fancy costumes. After the parties different gifts waited for students in their classrooms.
Thanks to the winter holidays - so bright and interesting - we did not only rest but also deeply studied the traditions of our fathers and grandfathers and learnt about our rich heritage.
