Minor School Olympiads – the Path to Success in the Future!
One of the most effective forms of extra-curricular activities is school competitions. We know that young students like any competition because at this age "game–competition–victory" formula is perceived by the child as a whole. And who does not like to win? The Olympiad is a competition in which the student is given an opportunity to show mental abilities and moral qualities. The Scandinavian Gymnasium Elementary School students had the opportunity to show their skills during the Subject Competition. The competition in Mathematics assessed the level of mathematical competency of young students, their ability to think logically, analyze, compare and contrast. Experts in the Ukrainian language showed their level of literacy, creative use of phraseology, antonyms and synonyms, and most importantly - knowledge of modern Ukrainian literary language. Natural Contest participants demonstrated their ability to observe the surrounding environment, natural phenomena, showed deep knowledge of living and inanimate natural environment as well as the ability to reason and draw conclusions. The Contest participants demonstrated thorough knowledge and a very high level of intellectual preparation.
