Kyiv – Naestved Project: continued
The country of the Vikings and the tales of Hans Christian Andersen, islands and strong winds, good ecology and happy people, bike lanes and small houses. That’s how our students remembered the Royal Denmark. They visited the picturesque Scandinavia in November 2014.
This trip was made in the framework of international friendship project between Scandinavian Gymnasium and Næstved Gymnasium (Næstved, Denmark). This is not the first time that the Danish school receives Ukrainian students with open arms.
Thus, the students of Scandinavian Gymnasium were able plunge into the atmosphere of everyday life of traditional Danish town, try traditional dishes, live the life of ordinary Danish people, and improve their Danish and English.
The Ukrainian delegation was impressed by Næstved Gymnasium which is quite different from our school. Only high school students study there and, therefore, they have more space for education and certain freedom. The Kyiv students were lucky to attend lessons in mathematics, history, biology, PT, sociology, English, Danish and Russian. The students from Scandinavian Gymnasium actively participated in the lessons, were interested in the material, and even gladly answered the questions.
They also had time to walk along the streets of Copenhagen, to share their impressions of the Andersen fairy tales near the monument to the great storyteller, to see the «Tivoli» entertainment park, and even tried to visit Queen Margaret the Second, but, unfortunately, she was very busy.
The trip was short but left unforgettable impressions!
