St. Nicholas Day
In Ukraine, St. Nicholas Day has long been a significant and merry holiday. Between two days of 18 to 19 December, on a dark winter night, St. Nicholas comes down from heaven to the Ukrainian children and knows exactly how the children behave throughout the year.
On December the 19th St. Nicholas sent his angels to primary school students of Scandinavian gymnasium. The children found presents in their classrooms. Their parents, their class teachers and the students of the 4D form helped to create their festive mood.
The 3B form students celebrated that day with a family holiday. Funny songs were sung, poems were recited, round winter dance was danced. St. Nicholas with his angels came to visit the pupils of the 1G form. The children told about their good deeds sharing their triumphs and success in school.
The holiday is over but we have a lot of surprises ahead. All elementary school students are looking forward to the New Year and are preparing the costumes for the meeting with Farther Frost, our Santa Claus.
