Field meeting of the Scientific Council of the Ukraine’s APS Institute of Pedagogics
On October 22nd, 2012 at Scandinavian gymnasium in the framework of the agreement on cooperation the meeting of the Academic Council of the Ukraine’s APS Institute of Pedagogics was held. Since 2010 the primary school of Scandinavian gymnasium has being holding events together with the APS Institute of Pedagogics in the framework of the innovation program “The methods of forming key and subject competences of younger students in the learning process."
The author of the program: Bibik, the Chief Scientific Officer, Doctor of Education, the Member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine. During the meeting O. V. Onopriyenko, the Head of the Laboratory of Primary Education, PhD, reported to the Scientific Council on the progress and the interim results of the program “The methods of forming key and subject competences of younger students in the learning process" and its implementation.
During the meeting the Headmistress of the gymnasium, PhD, T.E. Pushkaryova, familiarized the guests with Scandinavian gymnasium as an innovative educational institution in the capital of Ukraine. N.L. Kolomiets, the Deputy director on the elementary school, the Scientific Associate of the APS, told about the ways of building in the elementary school of the gymnasium the instructional work environment as a resource center for development the student's personality.
The scientific counselor of the gymnasium, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor S.M. Martynenko, attended the meeting as well as Elena Sukharevskaya, the Methodist of the Darnytsya district scientific methodological center, who identified the main areas of cooperation between educational institutions of Darnytsya district and the Ukraine’s APS Institute of Pedagogics. The scientists also visited the lessons of teachers- experimenters.
The students of the 1A form impressed the guests with their knowledge of set theory, geometry material, and mathematical terminology. Irina Voronina, their teacher, works using experimental methods developed by O.V. Onopriyenko.
The guests highly appreciated the lesson of reading in the 4B form. O. Savchenko, an Academician of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, the author of a textbook for teachers "Didactics of the primary education", in particular, made special mention of the level of students' knowledge and ability to articulate their opinions, formulate their own opinions during the lesson conducted by Olena Buchynska who uses experimental methods developed by V. Martynenko.
The lesson of the Ukrainian language in the 4V form conducted by the teacher O.V. Bilyachenko who works using experimental methods developed K.I. Ponomareva, captured the attention of the visitors from the first minute. Multimedia presentation created by the talented teacher helped to make the lesson a real journey to the land of knowledge.
The cooperation is under way. The pedagogical team of the gymnasium plans to continue to improve their skills using the latest experimental learning aids provided by the scientists.
